I'm up past my bedtime watching music videos and I just have to share this one! We decided to beat the heat this weekend by sending a small, but mighty troop of young performers to do an impromptu recital at the mall. We had fiddles, cellos, ukulele, singing, and even bassoon! Three cheers for live music (and gelato)! :-)
Try not to wait to find a fiddle until the last minute - it may be difficult to find the right size and fit!
Missoula is a small community and options are somewhat limited. There are several places to check out on our "Friends" page. Call them up - go in a get measured for the right fit or place an order for one if they don't have what you need. Good luck! Happy Fiddle Hunting! We are having a blast with our foam fiddles! Learning rhythms, singing songs, dancing to fiddle tunes, and getting a great start on that tricky bow hold! These little fiddlers are doing a fantastic job.
New classes begin in April - space is limited, sign up today! Thanks to Libby Catron-Gingerelli for the photos! We've got some great summer intensives lined up...and not just for our little friends! Adult beginner fiddling crash course! Fiddling on the CELLO! Campfire songs for the fiddler who knows a guitarist!
Sign up and reserve your spot today! There are so many articles on this subject! There is NO DOUBT music training at an early age is good for us. This link offers many great scholarly writings on the subject.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2996392/ I'm considering offering classes on Saturday mornings.
Also considering a 12-week curriculum, rather than 16-week. Yay or nay? Got opinions? Share them!
I truly believe in my heart there is nothing better for the soul, for bringing family together, and for community-building than music. And making music! Come learn and instrument with your child. Have fun, be challenged, model discipline and creativity! Got conflicts? Let me know what they are. Time/schedule conflicts, money conflicts, other children conflicts, etc ...let's figure this out and make these classes and their offerings the best we can - for YOU and your family! |
