String players unite! This ensemble is open to violin, viola, cello, and contrabass players. We explore arrangements of pop tunes, old standards, classic hits, rock n' roll, and anything else we feel like playing. There are parts for all string players (violin, viola, cello, bass) from intermediate to advanced levels. Fun is always the focus, but other benefits include learning to independently play your own part in an ensemble, learning how to be a lead or supportive role, playing syncopated rhythms, reading in other clefs (cello), using extended techniques, chopping or holding a good groove...AND you can never have enough string players as friends. Come rock your socks with us! There will be an end-of-summer performance TBA.
Cello power! The Cello Brigade is for young cellists who might not yet be ready for the faster pace of String Mafia. We explore simpler but equally creative arrangements of pop tunes and classic hits made specifically for the players involved. Participation is for intermediate level players - those who can comfortably read bass clef and have explored outside of first position. Fun is always the focus, but other benefits include learning to independently play your own part in an ensemble, learning how to be a lead or supportive role, playing syncopated rhythms, holding a good groove...AND a power pack of cellists as friends!
