Our POLICIES aim to uphold respect for our teaching artists, honor the families we serve, foster consistency, and nurture a lifelong connection to music.

Nondiscrimination
​Grow Music Missoula admits, welcomes, and celebrates students, teachers, and staff of all races, color, creed, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and socio-economic status to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available through our programming.

Lesson Policies

• Students in Grow Music classes or individual lessons are considered part of our school and invited to participate in both annual recitals and any additional performance opportunities.​

Group classes

• A $40 non-refundable retainer is required to secure your spot. Without the retainer, registration is not complete and a spot cannot be guaranteed. Enrollment is on a first-come basis.
• Full payment is due a week before the session begins. 
• Shall a student withdraw five days or less before a session, 50% of the class fee will be refunded. Less than 24-hours before a session begins, no refunds will be honored.
• If a student decides to withdraw during a multi-session enrollment, refunds for the subsequent sessions will be calculated based on the non-discounted session cost and excluding the retainer fee for the subsequent session.
• Group classes are offered as a package. Since we keep our classes intentionally small, missed classes during a session cannot be refunded, made up, or credited.
• Grow Music teachers reserve the right to cancel lessons due to illness or professional obligations. If one of our substitutes is not available, families will be informed as soon as possible and offered appropriate alternatives.
• During class time, parents/caregivers may wait in the lobby or engage in timely drop-off/pick-up. Though we will never intentionally leave a child unattended, Grow Music is not responsible for any student outside of class time.
• Tiny Fiddlers classes require a parent or caregivers participation.
• Parents/siblings are expected to keep distractions to a minimum. Siblings may not be left in the studio without parents.
• Please do your best to be on time. Late arrivals disrupt teachers, other participants, and the flow of class.
•  “Play-INs” are a valued part of our school and students are encouraged to participate. Refunds will not be given for non-participation.
• Grow Music reserves the right to refuse registration, terminate participation, cancel or change a class. All appropriate refunds or credits will be offered.

Individual lessons

• Individual lessons are paid as monthly tuition, by the first lesson of each month. If payment comes after the 10th, a $10 late fee will be added to the following month. Please communicate with your teacher to request other arrangements.
• All lessons needing to be canceled, changed, or rescheduled should be done through contacting your teacher.
• A minimum 24-hours notice must be given for cancellation of individual lessons. If a teacher is given less than 24hrs notice or if there is a no-show, you will be expected to pay for the missed lesson without the option to reschedule.
• If a teacher is given more than 24-hours notice, a make-up lesson spot or masterclass will be offered, depending on availability. For emergency situations, please communicate with your teacher for options.
• All Grow Music teachers reserve the right to cancel due to illness or other professional obligations. You will be informed as soon as possible and offered appropriate alternatives.
• We reserve the right to terminate a lesson spot after 3 late cancellations or no-shows.​
• Lessons may still happen without a student's instrument! There are many things to learn about music (theory, history, notation, rhythm skills) that extend beyond our instruments.
• Virtual lessons are offered - great for minor illness, weather, or transportation issues. Make requests with as much advanced notice as possible, <4hrs might not be possible. Unreliable internet connections will not be refunded or rescheduled.
• Current students who take individual lessons may receive a 10% discount on any classes or camps offered through Grow Music.

​Illness

• Masks are welcomed but optional for all participants. Please wash/sanitize hands before entering the Grow Music Studio. There are restrooms outside the studio and sanitizer is provided.
• PLEASE stay home if you or a contact have been exposed to Covid-19, any of it's variants, and/or are feeling ill. ​
• Should a teaching artist become ill, a substitute will be contacted. If that cannot be arranged in time, credit  or refunds will be offered for the missed class(es).
• Grow Music follows all CDC and City of Missoula Covid-19 guidelines. Should Grow Music need to cancel a session due to a change in directive, appropriate options will be offered. If this is not viable, and if the session is less than half completed a 50% refund/credit will be offered for the remaining classes. If the session is more than half completed, refund/credit for 25% of the remaining classes will be offered.
• Should a family decide to withdraw from a session due to Covid or illness concerns, no refunds or credits will be given.

Media

• We occasionally document our classes and performances. Sometimes we like to share these images on our website or socials. We NEVER use names. Please reach out if you have concerns, requests, or explicitly DO NOT want us to use photos of your family members. Email: [email protected]

Discounts

• Referral Discount - For each new family who registers on a current participant's recommendation, we offer both parties a $10 off a future session. Mention the referral's name upon registration and you will receive a discount code.
• Family Discount - 10% off the second child's session (lesser cost). May not be combined with other discounts.
• Multi-Session Discount - Must be paid in full by the first session or the discount does not apply. May not be combined with other discounts.
• Please inquire about sliding-scale, scholarships, work-trade/volunteer opportunities, or other payment options.
