Low Strings Adjudicator
Lisa Collins is from Albuquerque, New Mexico and holds both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Cello Performance from the University of New Mexico where she studied with Joanna de Keyser and David Schepps. She has completed certification with the Suzuki Association of America, having trained with Tanya Carey, Carey Beth Hockett, and Rick Mooney.
As a performer, Lisa is a member of the New Mexico Philharmonic and the Santa Fe Symphony, and maintains a busy freelance schedule.
As adjunct faculty at the University of New Mexico, she teaches Cello Pedagogy and Aural Skills. She is the Director of Cello at the UNM Lab School, with a flourishing program of young cellists, and is the founder of the Zealous Cellists, an Albuquerque-based performance group.
She has a delightful private studio, and she loves spending time with her brood of dogs and cats.
